When Laparoscopic Surgery should not be performed?
|
1. Advanced phase gynecological cancers
2. The experience of the surgeon should be sufficient to perform the operation. If the surgeon is not experienced on the subject of laparoscopic surgery, open surgery technique should be used. The difficulty level of the performed operation should be appropriate to the experience and skills of the doctors performing the operation. Especially, difficult operations like the removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) and myoma (myomectomy) should be performed with very experienced teams.
3. Patient’s having another health problem preventing the disease (for example severe heart disesase)
4. A previous operation or having undergone caesarean section, if performed by experienced teams, is not an obstacle for a laparoscopic operation. |
