Test Tube Baby Consists of Below Listed Stages

  1. Stimulation of ovaries (stimulation and follow-up)
  2. Gathering of the eggs
  3. Fertilization of the eggs in a laboratory environment and development of the established embryos
  4. Resettling the embryos inside the mother to be (embryo transfer)

Treatment stages (long protocol)

If we summarize the micro-injection treatment:

  1. The woman is administered some drugs and development of many folicules in the ovaries are provided (Stimulation and follow-up).
  2. During the period in which the drugs are being used, ultrasound examinations and blood tests (E2, LH) are applied to the women with certain intervals. By this way the development of the folicules are followed (ultrasound follow-up). During the ultrasound follow-ups, diameters of the folicules are measured. When 3-4 folicules are developed in the ovaries more than 18-20 mm, HCG is performed. After the HCG injection, egg collection is conducted 36 hours later.
  3. The process of egg collection is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia for a short period. Under the control of ultrasound, the folicules found in the ovaries are administered with syringes and the liquid inside are emptied. 1 egg is tried to be obtained from each folicule.
  4. The eggs in the liquid of the folicule are searched in the laboratory. Though the number of the eggs varies from patient to patient, 10-20 eggs are collected from a patient on the average.
  5. On the same day, the patient’s partner gives sperm through masturbation. Sperm washing and preparation processes are conducted. If azoospermia is present in man, sperm is obtained directly from the man’s testis or epididiymis via PESA/MESA/TESE/TESA methods. If these processes are conducted before, sperm or testis tissue can be cryopreserved. Previously frozen sperm or testis tissue are thawed on the day of egg collection and prepared for ICSI. ICSI.
  6. After the sperm is immobilized, drew into the microinjection syringe (7 micrones thick). The needle having a single spermatozoon is inserted into the egg. After the sperm is left into the cytoplasm of the egg, the needle is drawn back. After the ICSI process is complete, eggs are placed into the incubator.
  7. The embryos of highest quality, kept in the incubator for 2-5 days until the day of the embryo transfer are resettled in the womb of the mother to be.
