Ovary Cancer

Ovary cancer is the most fatal cancer type among gynecological cancers. Most of the patients are diagnosed between the ages of 40 and 60.

Risk factors for ovary cancer:

  • No pregnancy
  • History of fertility
  • Ovary cancer in the family


It is difficult to diagnose ovary cancers at early stage as its signs are vague and don’t attract the attention of patient. Routine gynecological examination and ultrasonography and, if necessary, some blood tests (Ca-125) are recommended to the patients. Exact diagnosis is determined as a result of surgical operation and pathology.

Surgical staging is necessary for diagnosis and treatment of ovary cancer. Generally, chemotherapy is applied after surgery.

Especially the patients having family members with ovary cancer should go routine controls. Ultrasonography and Ca-125 surveys should be examined.
